QUALITY IN TRANSLATION

One of the topics frequently discussed in the world is ‘Quality’. There are everlasting discussions around concept quality in especially services industry where an objective measurement is hard. Quality in translation is discussed in the same way and different parties approve different explanations explained differently by different parties.

On the other hand, the modern quality concept is already able to give an end to such discussions over quality understanding in translation. ISO defines quality as “degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfils requirement” while Japanese Committee of Industrial Standards focuses on sustainable quality and explains the same concept as “a production system that produces goods or services in an economical way and meets consumer requirements”.
The critical element both definitions agree on is that the service provided must meet requirements. This is the exact reason why one single production process is not effective for every translation assignment, and different procedures are carried out for translating different types of content.

Accordingly we approve the definition of quality in translation services as ‘a system that produces translation services so as to meet predefined requirements in an economical way” and for this reason we develop and apply project specific procedures for each translation project. In order to explain different set of procedures for different types of projects, we have adopted three standard packages of procedures namely

  1. Basic
  2. Premium
  3. Exclusive

Besides, there are ‘Plus’ services in order to meet requirements of some specific translation projects. Contact us for detailed information about quality procedures.
